We’re proud to share a significant legal victory for the Israeli public and the principles of fairness and transparency in consumer relations.
In a detailed and precedent-setting judgment, the District Court approved the class action led by our firm against IDI Insurance Company Ltd. (“IDI ‘Bituach Yashir’”), ruling that the company unlawfully renewed motor insurance policies and wrongfully charged premiums from its customers – in a total amount estimated at hundreds of millions of shekels.
This complex proceeding, which included an appeal to the Supreme Court and a subsequent request for a further hearing, addressed key issues of consumer protection, transparency, and accountability in insurer–insured relations.
The Court ordered IDI “Bituach Yashir” to refund the unlawfully collected premiums to its customers, with interest and indexation, delivering long-awaited and historic justice to Israeli policyholders.
