‎‏Adv. Yael Ben Naim, took part in the Duns 100 Labor law forum

Adv. Yael Ben Naim, partner and Head of our Labor Law Department, recently participated in the DUNS 100 forum, where senior labor attorneys in Israel discuss burning issues in the field of labor law. The discussion was also attended by the Chair of the Labor and Welfare Committee, MK Efrat Rayten.

Yael noted that “In recent years, the labor market, led by the high-tech sector, has been undergoing a real revolution, which was accelerated significantly during the COVID-19 crisis. New trends are largely positive, such as hybrid and flexible work, alongside the increased power of workers to negotiate their employment terms. However, these trends have also opened up the ability for employees to commit fraud, such as cases where employees are working in multiple workplaces simultaneously, allegedly as “full-time” employees. These employees hide the fact that they hold concurrent roles in more than one place, and they are granted exceptional wages and benefits. Even when the scams are discovered, the employers often avoid applying to the labor courts since the chances of deterrent compensation being granted are slim. We call on the legislature and the competent courts to develop tests and creative solutions suitable for the changes we see in the current labor market.”
