A Landmark Ruling by the Israeli Supreme Court

The Supreme Court (Justice Ofer Grosskopf) dismissed an application for leave to appeal filed by Bnei Sakhnin FC against the decision to certify a class action against the club, following the cancellation of a football match shortly before kickoff.

In a precedent-setting decision, the Court ruled that refunding ticket prices to fans does not preclude them from filing a class action for additional damages incurred due to the last-minute cancellation, including travel expenses, accommodation costs, and loss of time.

Advocates Eli Shimon and Or Talmon are representing the class plaintiffs in this proceeding.
